ABOUT PRODUCTID 16151
This vase, attributed to František Zemek for the renowned Czech glassworks Železný Brod, was created in the 1950s as an expression of mid-century Czechoslovak modernist experimentation. Mouth-blown from lemon-yellow glass, it features a striking gradation of colour: the deeper hue intensifies in the thicker lower section, while the neck and body appear lighter and highly translucent, allowing light to pass right through the structure. The surface is lustrous, highly polished, and smooth to the touch. Two artfully applied glass ribbons, also in lemon yellow, spiral across the upper half of the body, their undulating, leaf-like endings lending the silhouette an organic accent. The slim, elongated profile flares slightly outward and converges toward an elegantly pinched, double-peaked rim – a signature of Czech glass design from this era
