This waiting bench designed by Gerd Lange for Drabert in the 1970s is a testament to late modernist design, blending industrial materials with a focus on practical durability. Its structure is based on a solid, rectangular steel beam finished in matte black and supported by wide, flat legs with brushed metal end caps. Two molded plastic seat shells in a glossy, deep chocolate brown feature integrated armrests and are fitted with padded seat and backrest cushions in a warm ochre yellow textile with a fine, tactile weave. The upholstery is distinctly framed by the plastic shells, accentuating the interplay of texture and color. On the right side, a rectangular side table is seamlessly integrated, finished in dark brown HPL laminate with a plastic edge matching the seat shell. The bench's proportions are rectilinear and balanced, designed for stability and ease of use, while the overall geometry remains clean and purposeful. The item is in very good condition, showing only minimal traces of use typical for the 1970s.
