This German wall clock by Kienzle from the 1960s is a quintessential example of Mid-Century Modern design, combining sharp geometric lines with meticulous craftsmanship. The matte brass square frame encases a deeply stained, lacquered wooden panel with a subtle sheen, centrally featuring a round brushed aluminum dial in a cool silver tone. The minimalist dial displays only black hour markers and numerals for 12 and 6, with fine black lines for the remaining hours. Slender, gold-toned hands with a satin finish harmonize with the brass frame. The slightly convex glass cover ensures excellent legibility while adding an understated touch of refinement. The construction is precise, with visible metal joinery at the frame's corners and a sturdy hanging loop at the top. The proportions balance the circular dial against the rectangular frame, resulting in a calm, geometric composition. The clock is preserved in very good condition – no visible damage, only minor age-appropriate marks on the brass and wood, with no significant scratches or dents.
