This wall-mounted ceramic mask, model 3408 by Cortendorf Keramik, was produced in Germany during the 1950s. Crafted from quality stoneware, the piece presents a striking combination of satin-finished, chocolate brown for the face and neck, paired with glossy, icy-turquoise hair modeled in stylized, flowing waves. The surface reveals refined transitions—satiny smoothness on the visage contrasted by a highly glazed, pastel blue sheen in the hair, enlivened by white highlights that accentuate mid-century modern dynamism. Proportions are elongated and harmonious, with a slender neck and balanced, clean facial features that echo the era’s modernist ideals. The reverse side bears an impressed manufacturer's mark and model number. The ceramic's finish is even, lustrous, and free of visible imperfections or wear marks. Preserved in very good, near-original condition, with no signs of restoration or damage.
