The Space Age wall lamp designed by Klaus Hempel for Kaiser Leuchten, Germany, in the 1970s, stands as a distinct example of the era's forward-thinking design. Its construction is based on a square, solid metal body finished in a uniform, neutral matte white that imparts a crisp, modern character. The front panel is marked by a concentric circular indentation, creating a sculptural, three-dimensional effect that enhances the play of light and shadow. The lamp socket is black, offering a subtle contrast against the white surface. The proportions are balanced—the indentation's depth harmonizes with the overall thickness, and the precisely finished edges and seamless joints testify to high manufacturing standards. Designed primarily as a wall fixture, it can also serve as a compact ceiling light. The original manufacturer's label is intact. Condition: restored—the lamp has been recoated except for the light gray metal parts at the back, and is presented in excellent shape.
