ABOUT PRODUCTID 15316
This rectangular wall mirror, dating from the 1950s, exemplifies German applied art in the Art Deco style. The frame is crafted from wood, painted in an intense, warm red with a matte to semi-matte finish. The central element is a graphic illustration of a woman in 1920s attire: the silhouette is geometric, with simplified lines and elongated proportions, dressed in a blue-turquoise overcoat with pale beige hat and gloves, and details in muted sepia. Mirrored glass is still visible around the graphic, with a delicate gold decorative border accentuating the upper area. The lower section features a stylized plaque motif, entwined with turquoise and brown vine and leaf decoration, enclosing gold and burnt orange lettering commemorating the 1923 Berlin fashion exhibition. The mirror is in good condition for its age—surface displays minor scratches and a gentle patina, with slight wear at the frame edges, typical of its vintage origin, yet free from major damages or discoloration. The mirror channels the spirit of the interwar years: geometric stylization and ornament evoke the twilight of Berlin’s golden era of fashion. The red frame appears as a theatrical proscenium, revealing a world of saturated color and graphic abstraction, in step with the rhythm of a modernist metropolis. There is an echo of sophistication and graphic ingenuity—this illustrated woman seems to recount tales of stage lights, glassware clinking, and fashion under the Weimar sky.
