ABOUT PRODUCTID 5510
This antique wall mirror from circa 1890, originating in Northern Europe, features a tall, rectangular silhouette (height 115 cm, width 38 cm) with a distinctly vertical orientation. The frame is crafted from solid mahogany in a deep, warm brown with subtle reddish undertones and a semi-matte to satin finish. Gilded decorative accents mark the era: a classical inlaid medallion with a standing figure crowns the upper section, with two additional gold motifs—one beneath the medallion, another at the bottom panel. The frame displays fine craftsmanship in its precise joinery, subtle beading under the cornice, and a narrow wooden border surrounding what appears to be the original mirror glass. The overall condition is very good, showing only minor signs of age and a natural patina, with no significant damage or evidence of restoration. All decorative elements are authentic and well preserved. This neoclassical design, resonating with Empire Revival influences, tells the story of a time when restraint and refinement shaped interiors. The mahogany frame, shimmering quietly in half-light, carries echoes of 19th-century parlors where every object held purpose and meaning. The gilded details evoke the ambiance of late 19th-century homes—formally structured yet discreetly ornate. The mirror, a silent witness to more than a century of everyday life, preserves the dignity and gravitas of masterful woodworking from a bygone era. The mirror's tall, vertical form lends itself to classic living rooms or entryways, where it can emphasize ceiling height and introduce a sense of architectural order. It may be paired with a dark wood console,
