This decorative wall plate from the Rosenthal Studio-Linie '1001 Nights' series is a creation by Bjørn Wiinblad from the 1970s, rooted in the tradition of German artistic porcelain. Crafted from porcelain with a deep cobalt blue background, it features an expressive, fairy-tale female portrait—an unmistakable hallmark of Wiinblad’s visual language. The composition is enriched with intense hues—yellow, red, orange, pink, green, and turquoise—arranged in geometric, patchwork-like patterns. The face of the figure is divided into two contrasting fields, surrounded by a mosaic of colorful details, including a prominent purple halo effect. Ornate gold embellishments trace intricate oriental patterns along the edges and background, lending the plate a sense of opulence.
