A wall sconce from the 1970s, produced by the Elektrotechniczna Spółdzielnia Inwalidów in Nowa Huta, Krakow, embodies the spirit of Polish modernism of the late People’s Republic era. Originally created for a hotel interior in Karpacz and made entirely by hand in a short production run, the fixture features a robust frame crafted from solid spruce in a warm, honey-brown tone with distinct, visible wood grain and gently arched, rounded edges. Two thick-walled glass shades in a rich amber-honey color crown the construction—their irregular, quilted surface pattern, reminiscent of cracks or geometric ripples, softly diffuses the light and lends the lamp a striking vintage presence.
