This wall sconce from the 1970s, produced by German manufacturer 'PAN' Keramik, exemplifies mid-century modern design with a pronounced sculptural quality. The glazed ceramic body is shaped as a square with a central elevation housing the E27 bulb socket. The construction is robust and substantial, finished in a deep, warm brown that transitions to nearly black at the edges. The surface features a characteristic 'fat lava' cratered texture, highly glossy and light-reflective. An irregular cream-white border frames the piece, providing contrast and accentuating the geometric silhouette. The modular design allows several sconces to be combined into vertical or horizontal wall compositions.
