ABOUT PRODUCTID 3173
This French wall sconce from the 1970s features a robust construction that pairs gilded brass with opal glass. The design is distinctly geometric and symmetrical: two cylindrical, matte opal glass shades are mounted on a horizontal arm made of polished, reflective brass. The warm gold tone of the metal contrasts with the milky diffusion of light through the glass. The sconce is equipped with a pull-cord switch and two E27 light points. Dimensions: height 31 cm, width 30 cm, depth 15 cm. Condition is very good – the brass shows minimal patina, and the glass displays no visible damage. This piece speaks in the voice of 1970s French modernism: the elegance of material merges with disciplined form, while light filtered through opal glass evokes interiors of Parisian apartments, where detail and daily comfort coexist. The geometric brass arm and soft glass shades together create an atmosphere in which light not only dispels darkness, but also highlights the architectural rhythm of the era. The subtle patina on the brass marks the passage of time, preserving its vintage authenticity. The sconce can be combined with walnut or rosewood furniture, where the gold of the metal and the milky shades will accentuate the richness of wood tones. It would work well in a mid-century modern setting, as well as in eclectic interiors, serving as a subtle yet striking accent against a neutral wall. It pairs well with other brass or glass fixtures, and with boucle-textured textiles to underline its retro-modern character. Two E27 bulb sockets allow for a choice of light intensity and color temperature. The opal glass shades diffuse illumination evenly,
