ABOUT PRODUCTID 16755
This vintage ceramic wall sconce was produced by 'PAN' Keramik in Germany during the 1970s, reflecting the mature stage of European modernist design. The glazed ceramic body is formed in a modular, hexagonal geometry, featuring concentric, circular ridges that lend a strong sense of depth and structure. Warm browns and creamy beige tones dominate the palette, with smooth gradations and an impressive bubble-like, volcanic glaze effect along the edges, reminiscent of artisan ceramics from the era. A central, shiny chrome lamp holder provides a distinctly modern and space-age accent, in bold contrast with the tactile, matte surface of the ceramic. The interplay between reflective metal and textured ceramic amplifies the lighting effects and visual intrigue. The sconce is preserved in very good vintage condition—showing no chips or cracks, only natural glaze variations typical of hand-crafted ceramics. Designed for an E27 bulb socket, with new and fully functional wiring. The sconce channels the spirit of the 1970s: a time when designers embraced the versatility of ceramics and the allure of geometric modular forms.
