This mid-century modern wall sconce, produced in Poland in the 1960s by Zakład Elektromechaniczny Kraków, presents a harmonious interplay of metalworking and period aesthetics. The structure is based on a steel body, finished with a patinated copper layer that imparts a tactile, semi-matte surface with metallic highlights. At its center sits a glossy, white glass globe shade, encircled by eight hand-formed, hammered metal leaves—each featuring subtle, raised detailing. A vertically ribbed, stem-like base anchors the composition, tapering gently upwards. The sconce measures 40 cm in height, 32 cm in width, and 21 cm in depth. It includes a cord with a switch and accommodates an E27 light bulb. The piece is preserved in very good vintage condition, retaining its original patina with no significant signs of wear. The lamp’s form channels the voice of the 1960s, when Polish modernism sought a balance between geometric rigor and natural inspiration. Metal leaves radiate around the white globe in a floral motif, while the dark, copper-brown patina accentuates the depth and organic rhythm of the design.
