This wardrobe, designed by Bohumil Landsman for Jitona Soběslav, embodies the spirit of Czechoslovak modernism from the 1960s. The structure combines solid beech for the frame, ash veneer on the sides, and a striking walnut veneer on the front, arranged in a decorative mirrored grain pattern. The overall silhouette is defined by clean, geometric lines and slender, splayed legs in the mid-century modern tradition. Discreet golden aluminum fittings add a subtle yet refined accent. The interior is divided into two functional zones: a hanging rail on the right, a second rail and two deep, sliding drawers on the left; a new mirror has been mounted on the inside of the door. The wardrobe has undergone thorough restoration—wooden elements have been stripped and finished with Danish oil, enhancing the depth of the grain and imparting a satin sheen. It is preserved in excellent, ready-to-use condition.This piece echoes the voice of 1960s Czechoslovakia—a harmony of function and form, respect for materials, and a refined sense of proportion. The walnut fronts recall the interiors of homes where modernist furniture symbolized social progress and an affection for simplicity.
