The original NEY warming tray from the 1960s/70s stands as an example of European utilitarian design from the Mid-Century Modern era. Its rectangular, low-profile form is crafted using materials typical of the period: a dark, matte wooden frame, a surface composed of cream-colored ceramic tiles adorned with striking cobalt blue graphics in a traditional Dutch Delft style, and a slim stainless steel band that subtly reinforces the structure while adding an industrial accent. The short, angular legs are integrated into the frame, lending the tray a stable stance and geometric silhouette. The heating element’s power socket is visible on one side, highlighting its practical function for keeping dishes or beverages warm while serving. The decorative ceramic surface remains intact without cracks or chips, and the overall piece shows only minimal signs of age-appropriate use.
