ABOUT PRODUCTID 13318
This tall, cylindrical jug for water and beverages, designed in the 1970s by Wszewłod Sarnecki for Huta Krosno, is crafted from glass in a deep amethyst or smoky violet tone. Its surface presents a pronounced hammered or bark-like texture, enhancing grip and offering striking visual interest. The silhouette is slim and vertical, with an integrated, smoothly arched handle made from the same colored glass. The rim and spout are minimally rounded, free of ornament, and maintain a clean profile consistent with geometric simplicity. The color deepens towards the base, underscoring the elongated proportions, while the overall design reflects late modernist tendencies and a bold approach to colored, textured glass typical for Polish design of the 1970s. Condition: very good vintage – no visible defects, all original features and finishes remain intact. This jug tells a story of an era when Polish designers sought a dialogue between experimental surface effects and everyday functionality. The 1970s saw a preference for unforeseen textures, pronounced color gradients, and pure, architectural forms. The violet depth of the glass interacts with light in subtle ways, its facets diffusing brightness and inviting a momentary escape from the ordinary. Rather than fading into its surroundings, this vessel channels the confident voice of Polish mid-century modernism—timeless, expressive, and ready to be rediscovered. The jug may be placed on a credenza in the living room or used as the focal point of a table set for gatherings. It pairs well with minimalist tableware, matt glass, neutral ceramics, or decorative glass vases from the 1960s and 1970s. The form and hue are particularly at home in mid-century modern interiors, but could also be juxtap
