ABOUT PRODUCTID 23865
The large 'Remer' wine goblet exemplifies late 19th-century Art Nouveau glass artistry, created in 1895 by Glasfabrik Theresienthal under Michael von Poschinger in Bavaria. The spherical, smooth bowl transitions into an elongated, spiral-twisted stem with a high-set nodus, adorned by two decorative, coiled glass accents. The broad, stable foot also features a spiral pattern, echoing the stem’s motif. The piece is rendered in a translucent olive green with a subtle yellowish undertone, giving it a warm, earthy character. Crafted from fine, hand-blown glass with a glossy finish and seamless texture, the goblet’s proportions are balanced—a large bowl, slender stem, and wide base form a harmonious whole. It remains in excellent, original condition, with no visible signs of wear, damage, or restoration. This goblet tells a story of an era when artistry and craftsmanship intertwined with the natural world. The spiral stem and fluid lines evoke the lightness of Art Nouveau motifs, as if the glass responded to gentle air currents; the seamless form and spiral applications suggest a single, uninterrupted gesture by the glassblower. The olive-green hue catches and softens the light, evoking the refined ambiance of late 19th-century salons and gatherings—times when even everyday objects aspired to be works of art.The goblet may be paired with other Art Nouveau tableware or contrasted with simple white porcelain to highlight its organic form and distinctive color. It would work well on a formally set
