This Art Nouveau wine jug, produced by the renowned WMF manufactory in Germany around 1900, exemplifies the metalworking artistry of the early 20th century. Crafted from copper in a warm, slightly reddish tone and accented with brass on the elegantly curved handle and the ornate, openwork lid finial, the jug displays balanced proportions: 37 cm in height, 19 cm in length, and 14.5 cm in diameter. The semi-matte surface has a gentle sheen, showing subtle authentic patina and delicate wear typical of true antiques. The base is stamped with the WMF maker’s mark. The body features raised floral motifs characteristic of Art Nouveau—stylized thistle or poppy heads intertwine with flowing vertical lines, emphasizing the vessel’s slender, conical silhouette. The construction is solid, with seamless joints attesting to high craftsmanship. The condition is very good—minor age-related marks do not detract from the overall impression.
