ABOUT PRODUCTID 4622
This wine set from the 1920s is a refined example of Czech Art Deco craftsmanship, produced by Frantisek Bibus & Son in Moravská Třebová. The set consists of an oval tray (38 × 27 cm) made from repoussé brass, silver-plated for a glossy finish, and six goblets, each 14 cm high and 8 cm in diameter. The goblet bowls are crafted from intensely lime-green, translucent glass, which creates a striking contrast with the bright, silvery metal of the bases and stems. Both the tray and the metal elements of the goblets are adorned with flowing, undulating lines and stylized geometric motifs typical of the Art Deco period. The gently raised, wavy rim of the tray echoes the pattern of the goblet bases, resulting in a cohesive and balanced composition. The workmanship is precise, with smooth transitions between glass and metal, and the maker’s hallmark on the underside affirms the authenticity of the piece. The set remains in excellent condition—there are no damages, tarnish, or signs of wear; the silver plating is intact, and the glass is free from chips or cracks. The vivid interplay of lime glass and cool silver immediately evokes the spirit of the 1920s: a period when design sought harmony between geometric discipline and organic flourish. This set seems to tell the story of European salons where not only wine, but the very form of the vessel mattered. The repoussé lines and proportions of the goblets suggest a world where everyday rituals gained a touch of theatricality, and every detail held significance. One could display the set on a
