This Italian ladies' writing set from the 1940s/50s is a refined example of period craftsmanship and understated elegance, blending late Art Deco with early Mid-Century Modern sensibilities. The set comprises three items: a slender letter opener/bookmark (10.6 cm, blue guilloché enamel and silver handle, celluloid blade imitating ivory), a mechanical pencil (10.6 cm, blue enamelled silver with gold-plated accents and a delicate suspension loop), and a seal stamp (5.4 cm, plain matrix ready for personalization). All are housed in the original burgundy-brown leather or leatherette case, lined with cream velvet and satin. The set is unified by its cool pastel blue color, accentuated with silver and gold details and a lustrous, satin-like finish. Each piece is precisely constructed, with smooth transitions and minimal ornamentation, emphasizing slender, feminine proportions. The set is preserved in very good condition—writing instruments show no visible damage, and only minor traces of age appear on the case lining.This ensemble evokes the world of Italian writing culture in the mid-20th century—a time when refinement and attention to detail were part of everyday rituals.
