ABOUT PRODUCTID 11480
This Art Nouveau ceramic bonbonniere, most likely produced by Ćmielów in Poland during the 1950s, features a low, rounded form with a gently domed lid. Crafted from ceramic in a warm, creamy ivory tone and finished with a glossy glaze, its surface is adorned with hand-painted botanical and floral motifs in muted shades of pink, green, brown, and black, outlined with fine lines and delicate shading. The decoration is arranged asymmetrically, echoing the organic, flowing lines characteristic of the era. A narrow gold band encircles the rim, visibly worn and faded in places. The surface displays a fine network of glaze crazing (crackle) and subtle discolorations, further emphasizing its vintage authenticity. The piece is in very good condition, with no major damage—natural patina and signs of use are present, typical of well-preserved vintage ceramics. This bonbonniere carries the echoes of historic parlors and bedrooms, where everyday rituals were woven with an attention to detail. Its fluid silhouette and the gentle pace of Art Nouveau motifs evoke the atmosphere of the early twentieth century—a period when objects were crafted to please both function and the senses. The gold rim seems to shimmer with the light of bygone decades, while the crackle in the glaze tells of the passage of time, capturing distant conversations and gestures. It is an object that quietly recalls the ritual of storing small treasures, notes, or jewelry, honoring the poetry of daily life. The bonbonniere is well suited for display on a sideboard or console in the living room, where it can provide a subtle accent against wood or marble surfaces. It may be paired with other decorative porcelains or period glassware, as well as among potted plants and textiles
