ABOUT PRODUCTID 19783
This Art Nouveau bonbonniere, likely produced by Ćmielów in Poland in the 1950s, is crafted from warm ivory-toned ceramic with a low, rounded silhouette and smoothly convex lid—an echo of early 20th-century design. The surface features hand-painted botanical and floral motifs in muted tones of pink, green, brown, and black, arranged asymmetrically with fine outlines and subtle shading in the spirit of the Art Nouveau movement. The rim is finished with a narrow gold band, occasionally showing graceful fading that marks the passage of time. Across the glazed surface, a fine network of crackle (crazing) and organic discolorations add depth and testament to the object’s vintage age. Preserved in very good condition, the piece reveals only natural traces of use and patina, typical for fine vintage ceramics, without significant damage or loss. This bonbonniere carries the quiet voice of bygone parlours and boudoirs, conjuring a sense of ritual and devotion to aesthetic detail. The soft, fluid lines and unhurried rhythm of the Art Nouveau ornamentation evoke an age when objects were crafted as much for the senses as for utility. The golden rim gleams faintly with the memory of many evenings, while the crackle in the glaze seems to map the passing years and preserve echoes of intimate domestic routines. It gently recounts the heritage of storing small treasures, letters, or jewellery with respect for daily life and mindful beauty. On a sideboard or console, the bonbonniere will offer a subtle accent against wood or marble. It can be paired with other period porcelains or vintage glassware, enhanced by indoor greenery or natural textiles. The piece is at home in collector’s
