ABOUT PRODUCTID 24947
This late 19th-century Art Nouveau tea caddy, attributed to the Pallme König manufactory in Steinschönau (then Austria), exemplifies the era's mastery of artistic glass and metalwork. The body is fashioned from iridescent, lime-green glass with warm undertones, enhanced by a pronounced, three-dimensional texture reminiscent of honeycomb or scales. Its glossy surface intensifies the play of light, revealing subtle transitions of yellow and gold hues, especially at the base and edges. The rim, domed lid, and gracefully arched handle are crafted from nickel-plated brass with a smooth, mirror-like finish that contrasts with the organic glass texture. The lid is topped with a small, turned ebony finial. The proportions are balanced: the vessel gently flares upward, and the high handle accentuates the verticality of the form. Condition is very good—no chips, cracks, or visible damage, and the metalwork shows only minor, age-appropriate wear. This tea caddy echoes the turn-of-the-century spirit, when Art Nouveau drew inspiration from nature, translating motifs of leaves,
