This Art Deco crystal bonbonniere, designed by Josef Hoffmann for the esteemed Ludwig Moser & Sohne manufactory in Karlovy Vary (Bohemia) during the 1920s–30s, exemplifies the geometric clarity of the era. Crafted from high-quality cut crystal, its cool, smoky grey hue and highly polished, mirror-like surface highlight the depth and purity of the material. The architectural silhouette is defined by precise symmetry, featuring a broad, faceted base and a striking angular lid topped with a faceted finial. The craftsmanship is evident in the crisp edges and seamless transitions between planes. There are no signs of wear, damage, or restoration; the piece is preserved in excellent condition.

Geometry, purity of line, and restrained elegance speak here in the voice of Viennese Secession and the Wiener Werkstätte, from which Hoffmann emerged. The crystal refracts light across sharp facets, casting a play of shadows and reflections. This is an object that eschews ornamentation in favor of disciplined form and noble material, quietly evoking the luxury and rationality of early twentieth-century Bohemia.
The bonbonniere would make a statement displayed alone on a minimalist console or sideboard, accentuating
