ABOUT PRODUCTID 2155
This crystal bonbonniere by Moser, produced in the 1930s in Karlovy Vary, exemplifies Art Deco glassmaking at its finest. Crafted from faceted crystal glass in a vivid lime-turquoise hue, its surface is highly polished to enhance the clarity and luminosity of the material. The piece features a geometric octagonal form with sharply defined edges and flat planes, reflecting the disciplined lines of the era. The low, wide body is complemented by a bold, faceted octagonal handle on the lid, all precisely cut and seamlessly joined. The flat facet cuts are crisp and regular, and the base bears the original Moser factory mark. This bonbonniere remains in excellent condition, free from chips, restoration, or visible signs of use. The design captures the spirit of a time when glass became an architecture of light. In the 1930s, Moser mastered the language of Czechoslovakian glass, creating objects that resemble miniature crystalline pavilions—geometrically framed, yet vibrant with color. The lime-turquoise glass catches and disperses light, projecting a cool, almost electric aura that speaks to the optimism and energy of early modernism. Each plane invites the eye to trace shifting reflections, multiplying the interior's image in a manner unique to Art Deco glasswork. This bonbonniere could be displayed on a console or low table, surrounded by period glassware or minimalist metal and wood accents. When paired with matte plaster or oak veneer, it highlights the contrast between sheen and texture. It may serve as the centerpiece of a vintage glass collection or as a single accent in a contemporary space. Consider placing it near a lamp with warm-toned light to reveal the crystal's hues, or beside simple ceramics to emphasize its architectural silhouette.
