ABOUT PRODUCTID 11251
This pressed glass bonbonniere, produced by HSG Ząbkowice in Poland in the 1920s, features a heart-shaped form with compact, harmonious proportions and understated decorative appeal. The cool, pastel blue glass exhibits a slightly milky, semi-translucent finish, characteristic of early European modernism while referencing the artisanal tradition of late Art Nouveau. The lid is adorned with a raised geometric-floral pattern of stars and flowers, while the sides are enriched with vertical ribbed grooves that enhance the tactile texture. The matte-satin surface diffuses light softly, lending a gentle softness to the entire piece. A metal hinge and clasp encircle the upper edge, showing natural patina and traces of age; one clasp is missing, but the glass remains fully intact with no cracks or chips. Condition: good, with minor wear visible only on the metal parts. This bonbonniere narrates a moment of transition between eras: it carries the delicacy of late Art Nouveau while subtly foreshadowing the order and symmetry of Art Deco. The heart-shaped silhouette and cool hue evoke pre-war parlors, where glass objects served both as functional vessels and as refined ornaments. The relief patterns of flowers and stars seem to whisper of a fascination with nature and an aspiration for harmony—its matte surface scatters the light like morning mist, imbuing the piece with a sense of quiet restraint. The bonbonniere pairs well with other period
