The AXO desk lamp, designed by Patryk Magiera as the inaugural model of the YOUNG LIGHT PROJECT for the THORO brand, features a body crafted from PLA – a contemporary, eco-friendly material. The wide cylindrical shade is proportionally paired with a conical base, both finished in a muted, matte olive green. Subtle light beige accents run along the top and bottom edges of the shade, highlighting the geometric form. The surface is smooth, with an almost imperceptible 3D print texture, and the discreet black power cord emerges from the base. The lamp’s dimensions are 28 cm in height, 20 cm in width, and 20 cm in depth. AXO’s form employs a vocabulary of contemporary minimalism with hints of Scandinavian influence. Balanced proportions evoke a sense of harmony between function and aesthetics. The rotatable top cover allows the user to adjust the light output, introducing a subtle interactive element and a feeling of control over the environment. The olive green hue, enhanced by the matte finish, and the geometric silhouette convey calm assurance and the fresh perspective of a new generation of designers.
