ABOUT PRODUCTID 33775
This glass bonbonniere on a stem, produced around 1910 at the Ząbkowice Glassworks, exemplifies the refined tableware of its era. Made from clear, colorless glass with a glossy, highly reflective surface, it features alternating vertical panels on the body—some with a pressed diamond-cut lattice, others smooth and gently convex—creating a harmonious, geometric play of ornamentation. The domed lid, finished with a ribbed finial and matching vertical ribbing along the edge, echoes the motifs of the vessel’s body. A short, faceted stem leads into a wide, stable foot with a scalloped rim. The proportions (height 34 cm, diameter 16 cm) are well-balanced, giving the piece an elegant silhouette. This is a fine example of early 20th-century European pressed glass, distinguished by historicist and neoclassical influences. The bonbonniere is preserved in very good condition, with no visible damage or signs of restoration. The vessel resonates with the elegance of the turn of the century: light refracts gently across the glass, while ornamental detailing evokes the sophistication of historicism and neoclassicism. Its tall, slender form and broad foot tell a story of an age when even everyday tableware was designed for ritual and delight. The interplay of symmetry and elaborate decoration seems to whisper of drawing rooms and festive gatherings of a bygone era. This bonbonniere could be displayed as a centerpiece on a dining table, sideboard, or in a glass cabinet—either solo, to highlight its sculptural silhouette, or surrounded by other period glassware. It would work well in classic interiors with neoclassical accents, or in eclectic, collector-focused arrangements. Pairing it with porcelain dinnerware, silver trays, or linen napkins would further emphasize its historical context and decorative potential.
