This glass vessel, designed by Barbara Świstacka for the Krakow Institute of Glass in the 1970s, is constructed with a rounded, substantial body in richly saturated deep red glass featuring orange and ruby undertones. The form tapers towards a narrow base and is crowned with a short neck leading to a broad, flat rim that provides a refined contrast to the vessel’s softness. Most striking is the single, thick handle crafted from translucent light yellow glass, shifting to a warmer, golden hue near its expertly fused attachment. The handle forms an expressive curl, subtly referencing Art Nouveau, yet the overall silhouette, restrained decoration, and color palette remain faithful to the modernist design ethos of the 1960s and 1970s. The seamless joining and absence of mold lines indicate expert hand-blown craftsmanship. The gloss of the surface is smooth and even, and the piece is in very good condition without visible chips, cracks, restoration, or significant wear—showing no notable patina. This vessel echoes the spirit of its era, when glass served as both a canvas for modernist creativity and an integral element of daily life. The deep red hues convey the warmth of postwar Polish interiors, while the spiraled handle recalls the legacy of historical oil lamps, hinting at a quiet narrative of the past. The object seems to balance the gravitas of collector's art glass with the immediacy of hand-drawn form, inviting a subtle interplay of light—both literal and poetic. It could be displayed on a console or low shelf in the living room, where its colors
