The APOLLO 59 pendant lamp, designed by Broberg & Ridderstråle in 2018, is defined by the juxtaposition of two pure forms: a slender cylinder and a distinctive cone. Crafted from high-quality aluminum, the matte-finished body—available in off-white, orange, or ochre—merges seamlessly with a brushed, satin aluminum cone serving as the light diffuser. The lamp’s structure is marked by precise geometry, free from visible seams or fasteners; proportions are elongated, with a smooth, uninterrupted surface. Light is directed downward, creating focused, directional illumination. The lamp is suspended from a 3-meter cord and measures 12.5 cm in diameter by 59 cm in height. APOLLO 59 employs a restrained modernist vocabulary: the interplay of geometric forms evokes a dialogue between precision and playful use of color. The cone and cylinder meet in a single, balanced gesture, recalling both mid-century classicism and contemporary reinterpretations. The matte aluminum surface reflects light gently, while the contrast of finishes underscores the discipline of the design. The lamp performs well above a dining table or in a living area, where its clear contour and directional light establish a graphic rhythm within the space. It can be paired with furnishings featuring clean lines and a limited color palette—such as light oak, concrete, or glass—to highlight its minimalist nature. Surrounded by neutral textiles and metallic accents, APOLLO 59 helps create a cohesive, contemporary visual composition. The light source is a GU10 bulb with a maximum output of 10 W. The body is made of aluminum, and the ceiling rose of PVC. The 3-meter cable allows for flexible height adjustment. Energy-efficient GU10 LED bulbs are recommended.
