This faience fruit bowl, model no. 423, was designed by Jan Sowiński for the Włocławek Faience Factory in the 1960s and exemplifies Polish utilitarian modernism. The vessel features glazed faience with a square, slightly asymmetrical, organically contoured shape and softly curved edges. Its interior is adorned with hand-painted underglaze decoration: dynamic cobalt blue circles and abstract black and gray accents reminiscent of stylized leaves or seeds. The cool, off-white base contrasts with the vivid pattern. Three triangular, looped feet provide a sculptural character and stable support. The underside bears the factory mark and a stamp indicating the decoration number.
