The PLOPP stool by Oskar Zięta for Zieta Studio is an exploration at the intersection of engineering and functional art. Crafted from two ultra-thin sheets of steel, welded at the edges and inflated with compressed air using FiDU technology, it takes on a three-dimensional, organic form. The distinctive seat, 35 cm in diameter and 38 cm high, rests on three balloon-like legs. The intense yellow, high-gloss finish emphasizes the modernity of the design and highlights the dynamic folds of the metal. With no visible fasteners or decorative elements, the stool reveals a pure form, while irregular bulges and soft curves give it a sculptural presence. Plopp has received international recognition, evidenced by numerous global design awards. PLOPP’s visual language is all about energy and form: the seat ripples like a frozen bubble, and the legs appear soft yet are entirely steel.
