This Art Nouveau 'remer' wine goblet, produced by the Egerman glassworks in Novy Bor at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, exemplifies the technical and decorative mastery of Bohemian glassmaking. The bowl, crafted from layered glass, features a deep, cool cobalt blue intersected by vertical panels of clear glass, emphasizing both depth of color and visual lightness. The upper section is hand-decorated with intricate, double gilded ornamentation in the Secessionist style—organic, flowing motifs characteristic of the period. A tall, slender stem of clear glass, faceted at the base of the bowl, transitions into a broad, stable foot edged with a subtle gold rim. The goblet’s proportions are elongated and in keeping with late 19th-century aesthetics. The glass surface is smooth and polished, showing no signs of wear or damage—preserved in excellent condition.
