The Linear Stem Slate 060505 rug, designed by Orla Kiely, is a hand-tufted wool model measuring 200 × 280 cm. Its signature mid-century modern pattern features a repeating motif of linear stems and leaves, distributed evenly across the surface. The deep slate grey background contrasts with the beige, graphic design elements, creating a clear division between light and dark sections. The matte, dense, and soft pile offers tactile comfort, while the precisely finished edges and balanced proportions reflect high craftsmanship. The rug stands out for its harmonious pattern layout and eco-friendly, natural composition. The motif of ordered, repetitive stems evokes a sense of calm and order, referencing the graphic tradition of the 1960s and 1970s. The rug expresses restraint—its geometric rhythm and color contrast give the impression of a muted visual statement. The equilibrium between cool slate and warm beige allows this design to bridge vintage narratives with contemporary order. Linear Stem Slate works well in a living room with light walls and natural wood furniture, where the pattern adds visual interest to expansive surfaces. It can be paired with simple sofas in greys or beiges, metal tables, and black accessories to reinforce its graphic character. Potted plants and smooth-textured textiles will complement the interior, accentuating the rug’s calm, modernist mood. The rug has a weight of 4500 g/m², and the dense pile ensures a pleasant feel underfoot and enhanced color durability. Designed for indoor use, it is made from natural wool and is environmentally friendly. Maintenance involves regular vacuuming and avoiding prolonged exposure to moisture.
