The Marimekko Lokki Black 133905 rug, measuring 170x240 cm, is a hand-tufted piece crafted from high-quality wool. Its surface features a repeating, graphic motif of broad, undulating stripes – warm beige forms the background for matte, deep black waves, creating a distinct horizontal rhythm across the entire length. The rug’s thick, resilient pile and precisely finished edges establish a robust, contemporary character, while the matte texture enhances the natural quality of the wool. Lokki Black’s visual language balances Scandinavian restraint with bold abstraction. The rhythmic waves form a calm, organic composition reminiscent of water movement or soft light playing on sand. The minimalist palette and clean pattern communicate clarity and order, while maintaining a tactile, inviting presence. The rug works well in spacious living and dining areas, where it can serve as the primary accent of a lounge zone. Pairing it with simple furniture—light wood, white, or black metal—emphasizes the graphic nature of the pattern. Complementary accessories in subdued tones, such as wool throws or minimalist lamps, highlight its texture and depth of color. In natural light, the surface takes on a soft, appealing glow. The rug has a weight of 4200 g/m2, with a thick pile ensuring comfort underfoot and long-lasting color. The wool used is resistant to crushing and easy to keep clean. Designed for indoor use, it lies flat on the floor and maintains stability even with intensive use.
