The Lokki Black 133905 rug by Marimekko is crafted from high-quality wool, hand-woven in a generous 250x350 cm format. The matte surface and thick, plush pile create a tactile structure, while carefully finished edges emphasize the clean rectangular silhouette. Its distinctive design features rhythmic, organic stripes in shades of beige and deep black, forming a graphic, fluid composition. Conceived for modern and Scandinavian interiors, the rug maintains a focus on simplicity of form and natural materials. Lokki Black communicates a sense of visual movement—the contrast of undulating lines evokes shifting light or the gentle rhythm of nature, echoing the landscape motifs often found in contemporary Nordic design. The stark black, balanced by warm beige, sets up a dialogue between modernity and organic calm. This rug works well as the centerpiece in a spacious living room. It can be paired with simple light wood furniture, glass tables, or black accents to highlight the graphic pattern. Surrounded by textiles in shades of ecru, graphite, or sage, it will create a harmonious and muted arrangement. It is worth combining with minimalist accessories and diffused lighting to reveal the richness of the pile’s texture. The carpet features a weight of 4200 g/m2 and a thick, soft pile, ensuring tangible softness underfoot. Intended for indoor use, it is hand-woven from natural wool, retains color fastness, and lies flat on the floor. Regular vacuuming and avoiding excessive moisture will help preserve its qualities over time.
