The Optical Oval Green/Cream 157707 rug, designed by Orla Kiely, is a rectangular wool model measuring 250x350 cm. Its matte, creamy beige surface features a bold geometric pattern of repeated, medium green ovals arranged in four vertical columns. The crisp outlines of the motifs and neatly finished edges highlight the craftsmanship. The thick, plush pile ensures a soft texture underfoot and the rug remains stable on the floor. This rug references the mid-century modern aesthetic, where repetition of form and playful color create a visual rhythm. The soft wool and graphic oval layout generate an optical depth, reminiscent of the relaxed yet vibrant designs of the 1960s and 1970s. Orla Kiely's signature simplicity, combined with geometric assertiveness, gives the rug a cheerful, dynamic character without excess. In a living room, it would work well as a central accent against a light floor or among contemporary furniture in neutral tones. It can be paired with sofas in shades of grey or beige, and complemented by natural wood and glass accessories to emphasize the geometric pattern. Minimalist lighting and smooth-textured textiles would enhance its visual impact, while green plants and framed graphics will complete a cohesive, modern interior arrangement. The rug is made of wool with a weight of 4500 g/m². The thick pile demonstrates increased resistance to deformation and retains color durability during daily use. It is designed for indoor environments, environmentally friendly, and easy to maintain.
