The Tiliskivi Green rug by Marimekko measures 70x245 cm and is handwoven from high-density wool with a weight of 4200 g/m2. Its surface features a regular geometric pattern—a grid of rectangles in off-white or beige, set against a deep, cool-toned green base. The dense, matte pile appears soft and slightly velvety to the touch. Edges are straight and neatly finished, with no visible fraying. The design is inspired by modernism and Scandinavian aesthetics, conveying a spirit of contemporary minimalism. The rug is intended for indoor use. The repetitive rhythm of the pattern recalls architectural drawings—geometric grids create an ordered, visually calm composition. The cool green hue contrasts with the warm lines, resulting in a balanced harmony. The surface suggests tactile softness, inviting daily use. The project’s character is restrained and legible, with natural wool emphasizing material authenticity. The rug will perform well in a modern living room, paired with a sofa of simple form, a low table in light wood or glass, and neutral textiles. It creates a graphic accent when combined with white or brass lighting and a few minimalist decorations. In a narrow hallway or transitional space, the regular grid helps organize the visual perspective. The green tone can be matched with potted plants and accessories in ecru or grey for a cohesive, contemporary arrangement. The rug is made from natural wool with a density of 4200 g/m2. The dense pile ensures color durability and comfort in use. It is handwoven and suitable for indoor spaces. The rug lies flat on the floor, and the matte surface facilitates easy cleaning.
