The Tiliskivi Brown rug by Marimekko is a hand-woven piece crafted from high-quality wool, measuring 70 × 245 cm. Its base features a warm, medium-saturated brown with a matte finish, overlaid with a contrasting grid of rectangular blocks in off-white or light beige. The dense, soft pile and neatly finished edges highlight the precision and solidity of its craftsmanship. The rug lies flat and adapts well to the floor, providing comfort underfoot thanks to its substantial weight of 4200 g/m². The bold, geometric grid references mid-century modern and Scandinavian design, creating a graphic rhythm and a subtly architectural character. The clarity of the lines and well-balanced proportions evoke a sense of order, while the wool’s tactile softness adds visual depth and calm. The minimalist pattern harmonizes with the warm brown tone, balancing form and material. This rug is well suited for contemporary living rooms, hallways, or dining areas, where it can serve as a striking runner or a backdrop for simple furniture made of light wood, metal, or glass. It pairs well with textiles in white, beige, or grey, and with accessories crafted from natural materials to emphasize its Scandinavian roots. Surrounded by greenery and diffuse light, the rug’s geometric pattern enhances the sense of order and depth within the space. The pile weight is 4200 g/m². The rug is intended for indoor use, made entirely of wool and hand-woven. It maintains color durability and a soft touch. Its solid structure ensures it remains flat on the floor, supporting comfortable daily use.
