This vase, produced in the Bydgoszcz glassworks around 1920, represents a unique example of Polish Art Deco craftsmanship from the early twentieth century. Its body is shaped from richly saturated ruby glass, overlaid with a finely executed, electroplated openwork silver decoration. The cool, subtly satin-finished silver covers most of the surface, leaving four large, vertically oriented elliptical medallions in which the silver is cut into stylized patterns of chestnut leaves and fruits, exposing the depth of the glass beneath. Additional delicate floral silver accents adorn the upper portion of the vase. The form is balanced, featuring a gently flared neck and softly rounded shoulders, typical of the period. All details are rendered with precision and symmetry. The vase measures 15.5 cm in height and 8 cm in diameter. Condition: excellent, with no damage or signs of restoration – both glass and silver remain pristine. This vase speaks in the language of an era when luxury was intertwined with the modern spirit – a time when Art Deco drew on both geometric clarity and the richness of natural motifs.
