The 'Wazon z pępkiem' (Vase with a Navel) is an artistic glass piece designed by Jerzy Słuczan-Orkusz in 1972 at the Kraków Institute of Glass. Crafted from colored glass, the vase features a striking gradient that transitions from deep red at the neck to fiery orange at the base, with a glossy, mirror-like finish that amplifies its vibrancy and depth. Its sculptural form is defined by a rounded body with a pronounced central indentation—the 'navel'—and two large, asymmetrical handles extending from the neck, each adorned with playful, spiky protrusions. Additional applied glass elements, reminiscent of thorns or tentacles, accentuate the vessel’s avant-garde and experimental character. All details are seamlessly integrated, with no visible joints, and the whole rests on a small, circular foot. The dimensions are 23 cm in height, 17.5 cm in width, and 8 cm in depth. The vase is preserved in excellent condition, with a perfectly smooth surface free from chips, scratches, or restoration marks.
