The LS24 armchair, designed by Mario Viezzoli for Anonima Castelli, is a contemporary take on late 20th-century modernist classics. The structure relies on contrasts: a wide seat, backrest, and armrests, all upholstered in deep forest green boucle fabric, form a seamless, matte-finished monolithic block. The boucle material has a visibly nubby, soft texture, emphasizing the chair’s tactile, textile character. The legs, made of chromed steel, feature a mirror-like, glossy finish; they are tubular, bent at right angles, and remain visible beneath the seat, highlighting the chair’s honest construction and modern edge. The proportions are balanced—integrated armrests and a wide backrest trace an organic, smoothly executed line. The LS24’s form references the graphic and ergonomic aesthetics of the late 1970s, where user comfort intertwines with a bold, sculptural silhouette. The organic curves of the armrests and backrest evoke the impression of a single, flat sheet folded into a soft, three-dimensional structure. The cool green and matte fabric texture create a sense of visual calm, while the shine of steel subtly disrupts the textile tension, giving the chair a contemporary rhythm.
