The LS24 armchair, designed by Mario Viezzoli for Anonima Castelli, is a contemporary take on late 20th-century Italian minimalism. The chair’s structure seamlessly integrates the seat, backrest, and armrests into a unified, sculptural form that evokes the image of a folded, flat sheet. Upholstered entirely in boucle fabric in a cool, muted olive green with a matte finish, the surface offers a tactile, subtly nubby texture. The base features four slightly splayed tubular chrome legs with a mirror finish, ending in small black feet. With proportions of 60.7 cm width, 59.7 cm depth, and 76 cm height, the chair provides generous seating comfort, while the contoured armrests and backrest naturally support the body. The armchair’s form adheres to the modernist principle of unity between function and aesthetics—every curve and transition follows the natural line of the body. The matte boucle upholstery diffuses light, emphasizing the softness of the contours, while the reflective chrome legs introduce an element of industrial precision.
