Platone is a folding desk designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Anonima Castelli in 1970. Its defining feature is a deep glossy blue tabletop with a mirror-like finish, framed by a slender, polished chrome edge that seamlessly integrates with the whole structure. The frame is crafted from tubular, chrome-plated metal with a smooth, reflective surface and rounded corners; the legs form a gently curved cantilever shape. Black plastic or rubber feet and connectors are visible at the base, protecting the floor. The geometry is minimalist and functional, emphasizing clean lines and a patented folding mechanism that transforms the desk from a compact wall-mounted object into a full-size workstation. Dimensions: width 830 mm, depth 650 mm, height 730 mm.
