KANDINSKY 30 is a pendant lamp defined by a compositional structure where a glass sphere in a warm, smoky brown tone with a subtle gradient is intersected by a slender, vertical rod of matte, brushed brass. The glossy, reflective glass contrasts with the satin surface of the brass, creating a clear material and visual dialogue. A discreet black cord and metal ceiling rose complete the minimalist character of Broberg & Ridderstråle’s 2020 design. Carefully balanced proportions—a 30 cm diameter sphere and total height of 81.2 cm—draw attention to the interplay of balance and tension, with no visible fasteners or joints. The form retains unity and subtle detailing throughout. The lamp communicates restraint and clarity—each element is precisely positioned, and the tension between glass and brass evokes abstract compositions reminiscent of Bauhaus. The suspended glass sphere acts as a center of gravity, seemingly lifted by the metal line, creating an impression of lightness and precision. The design speaks in a language of balance, where the parallel worlds of light and matter converge in a single, clear gesture.
