The KANDINSKY 30 pendant lamp, designed by Broberg & Ridderstråle in 2020, is defined by a clear dialogue between glass and brass. The main element is a large, spherical glass globe in a cool, medium grey tone, featuring a subtle gradient that gives it a semi-transparent, smoky character. A central, vertical brass rod with a satin-matte finish pierces the sphere, establishing a balanced axis and introducing a golden, architectural accent. The piece is suspended from a slender black textile cord. The construction is refined in every detail: smooth, glossy glass, invisible joints, and proportions of Ø 30 × H 81.2 cm. The lamp embodies contemporary minimalism with references to Bauhaus and mid-century modern design. The lamp’s form is a tension between the weight of the glass globe and the airiness of its suspension—appearing to balance in space on a fine line of light. The austere rhythm of geometry is softened by the interplay of materials: glass and brass, cool and warm, light and shadow. The subtlety of the composition evokes a sense of equilibrium and calm, while the overall expression communicates architectural precision and a pursuit of purity in form.
