The KANDINSKY 45 pendant lamp, designed by Broberg & Ridderstråle in 2020, is based on a balanced composition of glass and brass. A spherical opal glass shade is juxtaposed with a vertical, linear brass element, creating an impression of poised tension and lightness. The canopy is made of metal, and the entire piece is rendered in shades of brown and gold. The lamp measures 45 cm in diameter, 107.7 cm in height, and features a 416.7 cm cable. It includes an integrated LED light source (7 W), connected via a DC connector. Slender proportions and a distinct vertical axis define its character, while the contrast between the translucency of the glass and the satin brass finish establishes a strong, architectural accent. The design communicates precision and subtle tension—glass and metal appear to hover in a fleeting equilibrium. The linear arrangement evokes geometric abstraction: the lamp seems suspended between light and shadow, like a mobile composed of two opposing elements. The minimalist construction refrains from dominating the space, allowing light to take center stage. KANDINSKY 45 will work well above a dining table or as a focal point in the living room.
