KANDINSKY 45 is a pendant lamp designed by Broberg & Ridderstråle in 2020. The composition is built on the contrast between a large, smoky grey glass sphere and a vertical rod made of matte, brushed brass. The spherical shade, 45 cm in diameter, is intersected by a slender linear element that establishes a strong axis and emphasizes the lamp’s balanced proportions. The entire fixture is suspended from a thin black cord, with a metal canopy. The interplay of glass and brass creates a visual dialogue between transparency and solidity, coolness and warmth. The semi-gloss finish of the glass and the seamless transitions between materials highlight the minimalist and precise character of this contemporary design. The form of the lamp expresses tension and equilibrium—its geometric abstraction echoes modernist and Bauhaus traditions, where line and sphere engage in a tranquil dialogue. The matte brass brings warmth, while the smoky glass introduces a sense of mystery, as if the light emerges from a gentle haze. The harmonious proportions make the lamp a kind of suspended sculpture, subtly marking its presence in the interior. KANDINSKY 45 works well above a dining table, in a living room, or a tall hallway, where its form can be appreciated from multiple viewpoints. It can be paired with furniture featuring clean lines and accents in gold or black to enhance its graphic quality. The smoked glass sphere will harmonize with textiles in shades of grey, beige, or muted green. Surrounded by light walls and natural materials, the lamp will gain an even more pronounced sculptural effect. The lamp is fitted with an integrated LED light source, 1 × 7 W (DC connector), included in the set.
