TURNER 50 is a pendant lamp designed by Broberg & Ridderstråle in 2021. Its form is based on spirally overlapping bands crafted using cocoon technology, resulting in a soft, organic silhouette with a 50 cm diameter. The lamp is made from cocoon material with visible natural fibers and a matte metal canopy. The shade’s warm, off-white tone features subtle translucency, allowing light to diffuse gently, while a thin, black 3-meter cord introduces a contrasting accent to the light body. The construction appears seamless, with no visible joints or fasteners, and the finish is uniformly matte and non-reflective. TURNER 50 communicates a sense of visual lightness and calm through its flowing lines and subtly layered structure. The spiral arrangement of bands evokes swirling air or a cocoon, in which light attains a gentle softness. The fibrous texture of the surface suggests a natural quality, while the minimalist silhouette references Scandinavian and mid-century modern traditions.
