The Tiliskivi Brown rug by Marimekko is a hand-woven wool model measuring 250x350 cm. Its main tone is a deep, medium brown with a subtly golden hue, highlighted by a regular grid of vertical and horizontal lines in a cream or off-white shade. The pattern remains consistent throughout, while the matte surface and dense, soft pile are hallmarks of high-quality Scandinavian textiles. The rug’s edges are straight and neatly finished, and it lies perfectly flat on the floor. Designed for interiors, this piece is made in Finland by Marimekko. The balanced grid suggests harmony and calm, with rhythmic lines evoking architectural motifs of modernism. The softness of the pile and muted brown color create a sense of comfort—as if the rug serves as a quiet backdrop to daily life, organizing the space without dominating it. There is a graphic simplicity here that sets the framework of the interior discreetly. It will work well in spacious living rooms with light walls and furnishings made of natural wood or metal. The rug can be paired with minimalist sofas in shades of beige, grey, or cashmere, and for greater contrast—with black or white accents. It is worth combining with warm, neutral textiles and diffused lighting to emphasize the pile’s softness and the clarity of the pattern. A weight of 4200 g/m2 and thick, soft pile ensure durability and comfort in use. The rug is hand-woven from natural wool, features color fastness, and is easy to maintain. Intended for indoor use, it sits flat on the floor.
